Doug Bates Painting was referred to me by a good friend. I was ready to paint my cherry kitchen, laundry and bathroom cabinets. I contacted Doug in the fall, and told him we would be gone from mid January until April 1st. We tentatively scheduled the work to commence in mid January. I wanted to match the trim to the new cabinet paint however, when Doug brought a wood sample we did not feel the color was right. Doug took about 2 mins. to find the correct color in the paint deck and assured me the color would look great. After being gone for 2 months I walked in and was so pleased with my cabinets and the quality of workmanship and how crisp and clean everything looked. I was sent pictures of the progress and just could not wait to see it in person. They covered my floors and furniture, I never saw a drop of paint. The work was done in a timely manner and if I had a question or called to check on things he or his associates were kind and answered any questions. It did go well and I am thrilled.....highly recommend!

Doug and his team are AMAZING! Super polite and professional, and they did a phenomenal job preparing and painting my house. They repaired wood rot and stucco damage, took great care to prepare the area when scraping off lead-based paint, and were all lovely people to boot! Doug worked with me to select test colors, then gave his expert opinion on which of the three would be best. He even gently guided me away from what, in hindsight, would have been an absolutely hideous door color. John was the point person on my job. He went above and beyond, and was a pleasure to have around. The whole job took about three weeks, so this turned out to be more important than I ever realized. He's a great communicator and kept me in the loop on the process, who was going to be over which day (the house had some severe deferred maintenance issues, so there were multiple carpenters involved), and when they would arrive. There were no surprises. Except maybe some more wood rot that needed to be addressed; Doug stepped in and explained what needed to be done and what the cost would be. My house is now gorgeous, and the price was well below the other quote I got from a different company. Two of my neighbors have already asked who painted my house-- they saw firsthand the whole process and were also impressed.

I have used Bates before and returned due to great service and quality of work. Doug and his team have always done great work for us.

We were too late to get on the schedule this year but they were willing to work us in after Thanksgiving when we had a week of nice weather. Very pleased with quality of the work.

We could not be any more pleased with the new look in our bedroom, hallway and stairs. The crew was professional, courteous and delightful to have in our home. The work was far beyond what I could have predicted. They did the deep repair work that will make the room look fantastic for years, repairing cracks in the walls of our older house. If you want quality and meticulous care, this is your company. They are also great at advising on what to do if you have questions. And the owners are people of great integrity and warm hospitality!
